We provide customizable designs, timber framing, and on-site assembly to create beautiful homes that are energy efficient, comfortable, and engineered to last generations.

Iowa’s gently rolling plains, scenic river valleys, and charming small towns offer a perfect backdrop for timber frame homes that emphasize craftsmanship, resilience, and nature.

Our homes fit seamlessly into the varied Iowa landscape, whether you’re building a homestead on the prairies, a riverside cabin along the Mississippi, or a farmhouse in the heart of the Midwest.

We’ve built across the state, with projects from Perry to Cedar Rapids and Central City. Timber frame homes provide lasting value and energy efficiency, while capturing the natural beauty that defines life in Iowa.

Iowa’s landscape lends itself to architectural styles that reflect the state’s agricultural roots and expansive, open spaces.

Across the farmlands and prairies, especially in central and western Iowa, our homes bring a classic farmhouse aesthetic with modern durability. Picture a timber-framed farmhouse near towns like Ames or Fort Dodge, with expansive wrap-around porches, high ceilings, and exposed wood beams. Our customizable layouts allow for generous living areas, open kitchens, and practical mudrooms—perfect for the traditional Midwestern lifestyle while providing the warmth and character of timber frame design.

In river towns along the Mississippi, like Dubuque and Davenport, we capture the charm of historic architecture while providing a modern, eco-friendly interior. Our designs can incorporate classic touches, like stone fireplaces and gabled roofs, which echo the architectural heritage of the area while embracing contemporary design elements. We offer flexibility for riverfront porches and patios, ideal for relaxing and taking in Iowa’s beautiful views.

For those drawn to Iowa’s wooded areas and rolling hills, particularly in the Loess Hills or near state parks like Lake Macbride, our homes can take on a rustic cabin style that blends with the natural surroundings.

A timber-framed lodge with expansive decks, cathedral ceilings, and exposed rafters offers an inviting escape into nature, perfect for weekend retreats or full-time living. We design options for outdoor spaces like screened-in porches and patios, providing a seamless transition between the interior and Iowa’s scenic outdoors.

Iowa’s climate ranges from cold winters with snowfall to warm, humid summers, and our homes are designed to provide comfort and energy savings year-round.

By combining timber frames with structural insulated panels (SIPs), we create a tight, insulated building envelope that stabilizes indoor temperatures and reduces energy costs, making it ideal for Iowa’s seasonal changes.

During the humid summers, especially in the central and eastern regions, our homes prevent heat from penetrating the interior, reducing the need for extensive air conditioning. SIPs keep cool air inside, creating a comfortable environment even in peak summer months. This airtight construction also helps control indoor humidity levels, improving air quality and minimizing the risk of mold—important in Iowa’s occasionally damp climate.

During Missouri’s winters, which can bring cold temperatures and icy conditions, SIPs offer excellent insulation to keep homes warm and reduce heating costs. This well-insulated design also protects against cool drafts, ensuring your home remains cozy through the colder months.

In the winter, particularly in northern and western Iowa, where temperatures can drop significantly, SIPs retain warmth and reduce heat loss, making homes more affordable to heat.

Our designs also incorporate passive solar elements, with strategically placed windows and overhangs that allow natural sunlight to warm the home in winter while providing shade in summer. Whether in the plains or river valleys, our energy-efficient designs ensure comfort throughout Iowa’s varied climate.

Iowa’s diverse environment, from open plains to river valleys, presents unique engineering challenges, including high winds and heavy snow, and potential flooding. We address these by engineering each home specifically for its exact location, ensuring that it meets all local codes and standards. Our timbers and panels are designed to frame homes that thrive in Iowa’s climate and are built to last.

In Iowa’s open plains, where high winds and occasional tornadoes can occur, our timber frame construction provides inherent wind resistance due to the strength and density of the materials, giving homeowners peace of mind in gusty conditions. For homes built along rivers or in low-lying areas, we offer elevated foundation options and walkout basements to protect against flooding while adding functional living space—particularly valuable along the Mississippi or Iowa rivers, where water levels may fluctuate.

In northern regions of the state, where heavy snowfall is common, our SIPs and timber frames ensure homes are structurally sound and capable of supporting substantial snow loads, keeping your home safe and stable throughout the winter months.

With our focus on durability, energy efficiency, and timeless craftsmanship, we design each home to endure Iowa’s diverse landscapes, from farmland expanses to forested retreats, balancing form and function for the Heartland.
