Timberbuilt specializes in designing and building architecturally distinct, sustainable timber frame homes across North America, and we’re proud to offer our services throughout Colorado.

We provide customizable designs, timber framing, and on-site assembly to create beautiful homes that are energy efficient, comfortable, and engineered to last generations.

You’ll find new Timberbuilt homes in The Centennial State every year. We even hosted our annual Tour of Homes from outside of Denver last spring, where we showed off our clients’ timber frame houses in Granby and Evergreen.

FEATURED COLORADO PROJECT

This recent Timberbuilt project in Evergreen, Colorado was featured as part of our Tour of Homes. The design is extremely customizable and like all of our homes it was built with pre-insulated wall and roof panels for energy efficiency. Colorado’s landscapes are as diverse as they are breathtaking. In the high-altitude Rockies, where snow blankets the world half the year, our flexible designs allow for homes that are comfortable in the snow and the summer sun. Imagine waking up to panoramic views of the San Juan Mountains through floor-to-ceiling windows in your timber-framed great room, or stepping out from a covered deck into the crisp air of a pine forest in Steamboat Springs. Our designs aren’t just homes; they’re invitations to step into the surrounding natural beauty.

Timberbuilt’s homes excel in areas where outdoor living is key. Colorado’s love affair with porches, decks, and outdoor dining spaces fits seamlessly into our architectural philosophy. Whether you want a sprawling porch that connects to your home office or a wrap-around deck for stargazing in Grand Junction’s desert night sky, we can deliver.

Our walkout basements are a perfect fit for Colorado’s sloping terrains, increasing your living space while keeping it connected to the outdoors.

Colorado’s architectural styles vary by region. In Boulder and Fort Collins, modern mountain designs with sharp lines and natural materials are popular, while more traditional cabin aesthetics remain a favorite in areas like Aspen and Vail.

Timberbuilt homes, crafted with natural wood, structural insulated panels (SIPs), and customizable finishes, can be styled to reflect the rustic charm of a mountain lodge or the sleek appeal of contemporary architecture. Every home can be tailored to your preferences—be it natural cedar siding to blend with the surrounding woodland or dark metal roofs for a modern twist.

Building for Colorado’s unpredictable climate requires more than just beauty—it demands brains.

We build our homes with structural insulated panels (SIPs) and hand-crafted timbers to offer airtight enclosures that regulate temperature in ways that traditional homes can’t. This combination of timbers and SIPs is a huge part of our green building process.

In the low-humidity plains of Pueblo, this means cool summers without running your air conditioning into the ground. In the thin mountain air of Breckenridge, where temperatures can plummet at night, SIPs keep your home warm, maintaining consistent interior temperatures regardless of the snow falling outside.

SIPs don’t just conserve energy — they improve air quality by sealing out pollutants, which is useful in urban areas like Denver where air quality can be a concern. By minimizing air leaks, these panels create a controlled environment that reduces the need for oversized HVAC systems.

Colorado’s diverse climate makes SIPs an ideal building solution across the state.

Snow loads in the mountains can be brutal and the high plain winds are unforgiving.

Our homes are designed with specific attention to your exact location, taking into account the snow load requirements for your lot in Crested Butte or the seismic considerations for a build in the Western Slope. We handle the technical aspects, from wind resilience in open spaces like the Front Range to snow-bearing calculations for higher elevations.

And when it comes to fire safety—a major concern in forested areas like Estes Park—our timber frame construction offers natural fire resistance, as large timbers char slowly and maintain structural integrity far longer than standard construction materials.

This isn’t just about surviving the elements; it’s about thriving in them. Timberbuilt homes are built to last for generations. Your Colorado timber frame home will be a permanent sanctuary, whether it’s battling snow in the Rockies, standing tall against wind in the plains, or withstanding the dry heat of the high desert.
