FEATURED MARYLAND PROJECT

This recent Timberbuilt project in Dickerson, Maryland began with our Olive Series design. The home was built to be energy efficient through all of Maryland’s seasons. We’ve got more images and a look at the design and construction phase of this project right here: Olive Series in Dickerson, MD

Maryland offers a range of natural environments, from the rugged Appalachian Mountains in the west to picturesque coastal regions along the Bay and the beach.

Our signature designs can help you make the most of your surroundings. They include large windows, open floor plans, and integrated outdoor living spaces such as wrap-around porches and decks that connect you to the outdoors.

And if you’re building in the hills of western Maryland, a walkout basement is an excellent way to maximize space on steeply sloped lots.

Maryland’s architectural styles are as diverse as its geography.

From traditional homes found in Annapolis and Frederick to the modern and contemporary designs in areas like Bethesda and Potomac, a timber home can be dressed in a range of materials, finishes, and colors to fit your community while reflecting your personal taste.

This inviting patio is a perfect example of how we connect the interior of our timber homes with the surrounding environment.

Maryland’s climate, with humid summers and cold winters is a great place for an energy efficient home to provide serious value.

We frame our homes with hand-crafted timbers that are connected with mortise and tenon joinery. We combine these with structural insulated panels (SIPs).

SIPs form your exterior walls and roof, providing superior insulation and an airtight building envelope. This gives you complete control of your indoor temperature, humidity, and air quality. It’s also a big part of our commitment to green building.

In the warmer regions of central and southern Maryland, SIPs help reduce heat gain, keeping your home cool during the summer and lowering the need to run your air conditioning. In colder areas, like the mountains by Deep Creek Lake, SIPs retain heat, ensuring your home stays warm through the winter.
